News from the Fatherhood Research & Practice Network
Last month, the Fatherhood Research and Practice Network (FRPN), funded through the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation, launched to promote rigorous evaluation of fatherhood programs serving low-income fathers.
We plan to award grants to support evaluation research being conducted on these programs over the next three years. The purpose of these grants is to increase the number and quality of evaluations of fatherhood programs and learn more about how to better serve low-income fathers, racial/ethnic minorities and other under-studied populations.
Researchers and practitioners collaborating to evaluate fatherhood programs that provide effective parenting, economic stability, co-parenting and healthy relationships services are encouraged to review the FRPN requests for proposals. $300,000 is available for grants through our first round of funding. We expect to make three awards of approximately $50,000 and one to two awards in the $100,000 - $150,000 range.
Letters of interest are due on July 30.
Applicants will be notified of their official invitation to submit a proposal by August 15. Full proposals will be due by September 30 and award notifications will be distributed in October 2014.
