Since 1999, Joseph has designed, implemented and provided fatherhood, job training and family strengthening services to men and women locally and nationally. Prior to founding the Center for Urban Families, he developed and directed the men’s services program for the federally funded Baltimore Healthy Start Infant Mortality Initiative.
Joseph was recently selected as a Black Male Achievement Social Innovator by the Institute for Black Male Achievement. He is the most recent past board chair of the National Fatherhood Leaders Group and currently serves on President Obama’s Taskforce on Fatherhood and Healthy Families and was a community advisor on fatherhood issues to Vice President Al Gore.
