Dr. Whearty’s work centers on father engagement, with a particular focus on nonresident fathers, child support policy, and parenting time. Her doctoral research explored the financial and emotional involvement of fathers following divorce, and she has published peer-reviewed work on expanding father participation in evidence-based home visiting programs. She has presented research on father involvement at national conferences and mentored undergraduate research on the effects of custody policies on paternal engagement. In her current role at the Center for Policy Research, she leads evaluation efforts in the fatherhood and child support space, continuing her commitment to advancing policies and programs that promote positive outcomes for fathers and their families. Most recently, Jacqueline has contributed to national conversations through her writing for the Fatherhood Research and Practice Network, where she examined how public policies can support fathers’ economic stability and family wellbeing.
